I Will Run To Iran
I know its been a couple lightyears since I last posted anything, but alas the time has come for the mother of this neglected blog to post something simple about something important! Trust me, it ain’t stop motion…. I AM GOING TO IRAN THIS SUMMER! I found out today and I almost cried! The only other time I went to Iran, let alone consciously remember seeing the Persian side of my...

Aaaaaaand another short stop motion I made up of pictures taken of my dear friend/photo companion Joe Rudko at Sehome Arboretum in Bellingham, WA this weekend. I was really excited to see that he has the multi-image filter I have been in search of for so long, so it was nice to test it out. Definitely bought one off of Amazon within 48 hours haha

Another short stop motion I made up of pictures taken of my boyfriend at Larabee State Park in Bellingham, WA this weekend. I’m starting to feel like these are like these little stop actions are my version of Andy Warhol’s screen tests in some weird, whimsical way. I hope to do many more of these…Enjoy!

Here’s a short stop motion I made up of pictures taken of my dear friend Emma Ranniger  at Larabee State Park in Bellingham, WA this weekend! Lately I find myself thinking in stop motion, which results in making my friends disappear and then bringing them back. Trust me, you’ll start seeing a pattern…keep your eyes peeled for a couple more from this weekend!

Make Believe On A Greyhound Bus
I love it when the bus driver turns off all the lights on the bus, especially at night. This is what I have to do. I put on my headphones and start playing a song. Meanwhile, I look outside my windows at the dark silhouettes of trees and trails of lights from the cars passing by. And if you are Bellingham-bound like I am, there will be moments of pure, dark, forested scenery. Then, from the...

Jerome Straight Out Of Camera
It’s always fun when your test shots for a shoot turn into something you would actually use. Especially when they require no editing! Keep your eyes peeled for shots from my actual shoot with theeeee wonderful, always beautiful Mandy !

Studio Shots #4: Simulated Sunlight
For one of our final assignments in my Lighting Techniques class, we had to set up a scene and take two different shots-one using a direct studio light, one using light reflected from a mirror-to simulate sunlight. The first one is with a mirror, the last one is with a studio light.  P.S. Ten photos for $5.00? Buying someone else’s memories has never been so cheap!

Away From Home Away From Home
Tonight I found out from my mom that it’s official, Tenemos que vender el piso del abuelo. Which translates to “We have to sell grandpa’s apartment”. Which translates to a weird feeling of nostalgia, like someone just died. My grandpa’s apartment is like my home away from home. It’s where I grew up during the summers of seeing family in Spain. And many times...

Note To Self
Dear Carmen, Today is November 30th, 2010 and you now hold in your hand a fresh, new sketchbook! Aside from the pages of this book, equip yourself with your eyes, ears and a Bic-4-color-retractable ball point pen at all times. This is a time for you to start taking responsibility for what drives your creativity and to constantly fuel it! Jot down everything that creatively excites you...
